Star Wars Amc Ertl Star Destroyer Model

This is the standard 15 kit from the 80's. It was not the released kit intended for fiber optics. I had to do some modifications to allow the strands to go where they needed to go.

All together there are 19 LEDs and just over 1000 optic strands that survived the construction process. The 3 large engine LEDs flicker and the other white 4 do not. There are some holes where the strands either pulled free from the glue inside or went dark. It was painted white and then a very light dark wash added to give it a slight patina. This prehistoric kit as compared to the precision kits we now see today had to have some scratch building to make part of the left and right side terraces fit better, but not completely flush.

There are some gaps that are noticeable in the neck/bridge connection. It has an on/off switch hardwired to the stand and a 9v jack attached as well. Runs on a 9v power supply, preferably with 1.5Amps which is included.

I don't recommend leaving it on for more than 30 minutes at a time for I have noticed that one section of the nose will go dark after too long but come back after a rest.
